Reading about Mat Honan’s hacking nightmare here finally got me to enable Google’s “two-step verification” on my Gmail account—only about 19 months after I’d suggested to readers that they do likewise.
A month later, I can report that it works, that it’s only caused a couple of hiccups, that it’s taught me a few things about my hacking exposure, and that it’s fun in a very dorky sort of way. I’m hoping everyone’s answer is “yes, of course,” but: If you use and value a Gmail account, have you switched on two-step verification by now?
